Is anyone aware of a good web resource that provides a list of all
raagas and the thaats they belong to?

itcsra.org has information regarding various ragas and their
corresponds thaats. There are also audio samples. This site is however
not exhaustive (I guess none are).

saw.org has articles by Mr. Parrikar where several ragas are covered
in good detail with clips.

musicalnirvana.com used to be another site for raga related
information, alas, its been down for some time now.

Some time back, a person called Adwait had provided a site which he
had built-up with information about various ragas. If you search this
forum, you'll find it.

It has a link on information and articles about raags.

One of the best that I find so far is:

http://www.pathcom.com/~ericp/raglist.html#142

Today it has listed 189 Ragas. For each Raga a That, Aroha-Avroha and
Pakad is given.

TilakKamod
Aroha 'P 'N S R G m - R m P N S'
Avaroha S' N P D m G R G S or S' P D- m G -R G S
Thaat Kkamaj
Jati shadav-sampurna
Vadi S
Samvadi P
Time second part of night
Pakad 'P 'N S R G- S- R P m G- SRGS-'N

ShuddhKalyan
Aroha S R G P D S'
Avaroha S' (N)D- P(M) G R S
Thaat Kalyan
Jati audav-sampurna
Vadi G
Samvadi D
Time first part of night
Pakad G - R S - ('N) 'D 'P- S - GR- GPR- S

Chandrakauns
Aroha S g m d N S'
Avaroha S' N d m g S
Thaat Kalyan
Jati audav-audav
Vadi m
Samvadi S
Time late part of night
Pakad

Ramkali
Aroha S G m P d N S'
Avaroha S' N d P- M Pd n d P m G mr S
Thaat Bhairav
Jati shadav-sampurna
Vadi P
Samvadi S
Time first part of morning
Pakad d P M P, d n d P, G m r S

I have just copied 4 ragas for example.

Another very informative site is sarangi.info

They have a web page under tab Ragmala. In this there are 1ll 10
Thatas are given. For each That the "Guru" gives (Recorded) quick
explanation of that raga and sings it briefly.

http://sarangi.info/ragamala/

It has 90+ ragas.

Produced by Khwaja Khurshid Anwar

Ragamala is an compilation of brief raga renditions by the most well
known Pakistani Kheyal singers, each preceded by Khurshid Anwar’s
commentary. The ragas are arranged under the following ten thaats:

Kalyan
Bilawal
Khamaj
Bhairov
Bhairavi
Todi
Asavari
Marwa
Purbi
Kafi

I hope this is the type of information you are looking for.

However if you are seriously interested in Classical music, you should
have a capable Guru.

Hope you will reply back with comments.

I checked out these resources, very helpful. Thanks.

While building a repository what all information fields should have
that can capture all relevant information around a raaga e.g.
obviously, the originating thaat, Aroha, Avroha, prahar (time)...what
else?

Regards
